Tom Gooch has been working in the field of photography since the age of sixteen when he freelanced for several local newspapers, such as the Courier Post. During those early years he won 1st and 2nd places in the prestigious Newspapers of America Competition.
Tom later opted to turn down a full tennis scholarship in order to study at the Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography. During college he won several competitions including 1st place in the Scott Papers National Award.
Tom graduated in 1983 and immediately fell in love with wedding photography. To date, Tom has photographed more than 2,000 weddings, bar mitzvahs and special events, including the wedding of one of the members of the R&B group Boyz II Men. Tom is also an accomplished commercial photographer. His work has been featured in publications such as Philadelphia Magazine, Architectural Digest and The New Yorker. Of note, Tom was commissioned to photograph Mickey Mantle. His unique photo is on display at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
In addition to having extensive knowledge of lighting and posing, Tom possesses the vital ability to sense people's emotions and predict their actions. Tom feels that the most important part of photographing a wedding is anticipating a moment... ahead of everyone else, in order to catch that once in a lifetime image.
Tom Gooch will provide you with extraordinary coverage of your special event.
